Meet the MASI Board
Ofani Eremae
President
Mr. Eremae was elected President on Saturday, 14 September 2024, and has held the position ever since. Ofani, who has a rich background in journalism, has served in various local media outlets. Some of his notable roles include Editor of the Solomon Star and the Island Sun newspapers. He is currently the co-founder of In-depth Solomons, the Solomon Islands’ first-ever investigative media outlet.
Eddie Osifelo
Board Member
Eddie was elected as a board member in 2024. He has more than 17 years of experience in mainstream media, including five years with the Island Sun and 12 years with the Solomon Star. Eddie specializes in political reporting and currently serves as sub-editor at the Solomon Star.
Chrisnrita Aumanu-Leong
Board Member
Chrisnrita Aumanu-Leong was elected as a board member in August 2025. She is the ABC’s reporter in the Solomon Islands, working as part of the ABC Pacific Local Journalism Network. Chrisnrita has extensive experience in television and radio, covering news, business, and sports.
Ednal Palmer
Board Member
Ednal Palmer was elected as a board member in 2025. He is a journalist with In-Depth Solomons and a media and communications specialist with more than 15 years of experience working with local and international newspapers, international organizations, and the development sector.
Ruthina Koroa
Board Member
Ruthina was elected to the board in August 2025. She formerly served as Station Manager at ZFM Radio Station in Honiara, Solomon Islands, with over three years of experience. Ruthina leads daily operations, manages a talented team, and focuses on creating engaging content, expanding digital reach, and building strong community connections
